The Miniature Schnauzer is an active, attentive and elegant dog and a popular pet with families. Its special coat structure of hard, wiry fur needs special care. Sensitive skin is often seen in Schnauzers and can be helped by offering a food rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids that protect and strengthen the skin from within. Miniature Schnauzers are very active dogs and need lots of exercise. Low activity levels can lead to overweight and related joint problems. Compared to other dogs, Miniature Schnauzers have an increased risk of developing urinary stones. A balanced food with a slightly raised sodium content can support higher liquid intake to thin down the urine.
Royal Canin Miniature Schnauzer Adult for adult dogs from 10 months was developed with the special requirements of the breed in mind:
- Special recipe to maintain ideal weight: Lack of exercise can lead to overweight. A low fat content of 14% helps to keep the ideal weight, L-carnitine mobilises the body's fat reserves
- Skin and coat protection: Valuable vitamins and amino acids (vitamin A, biotin, fish oil and zinc) help to improve the skin's barrier function and promote a shiny coat and reduced dandruff
- Special kibble for dental hygiene: Size and texture of the kibble encourage intensive chewing. The kibble contain sodium triphosphates that bind calcium in saliva and lower the risk of tartar
- Healthy urinary tract: A raised sodium content means your Schnauzer will drink more and thin down the urine to lower the concentration of mineral salts, which can lead to urinary stones
- Promotes urinary health
